    I would also like to remind my fellow Canadians that if you see anybody from the states here treat them as a friend. It’s easy to slide in to anger, but that anger needs to be directed at the government, not the individuals choosing to come and visit us.

      USian here - thanks for your nice reminder, and please to all of my neighbors up north: keep it up. Nothing is going to change down here until businesses (ie, the money) are hurt.

      My American friends just stopped talking to me and my wife. They’re very liberal people, so I guess they feel too embarrassed for their shit government or something. It stings a little because I was sorta expecting to talk about how we could help each other in these trying times. Oh well.

      All this to say, that I agree with you. This situation between the two countries — and the sour experience I had with my friends — is not an excuse to be dicks to random Americans. Thanks for the reminder.

      Last March I was on vacation in Ireland. We went multiple places. At least twice, when we noticed Canadians, we profusely apologized.

      “So sorry, Canada, eh.”
