We’ve tried lots of variations on that where I live but I have a lot of hope for

MBTA is a regional transit authority centered on Boston but covering 1/3 the state. Boston has done transit-oriented zoning/development for decades to encourage more walkable neighborhoods, higher density housing near transit. However now it applies everywhere in the system. All the surrounding suburbs must also zone for higher density housing near transit.

We’ve never been successful trying to enforce lower cost housing but maybe it’ll work encouraging more housing, near transit, and walkable

Similar to previous efforts here. This is why I’m hopeful that focusing on quantity, higher density is better than low cost.

Developing a larger building with more units should also be more profitable for developers.
