From Blackland Prairie Raptor Center
Hey! I’m not a squishy toy. I’m just a little Eastern Screen Owl trying to get some shut eye.
If not plushy, why plushy shaped?
It is hard to argue with that logic…
I think the concept of holding on to a raptor is much more satisfying than actually doing so. Actual plushies have a much more satisfying and safer squish.
I want to put him in my shirt to sleep.
They are so tiny and surprisingly weightless, you would barely notice it was there until it pinches or scritches you. The ways owls are built, that’s no joke.
This one is probably less than 200g, so about the weight of your typical pair of white athletic socks.
So It’s like 95℅ floof? My heart!
They’re about 40-60% floof, which is still a lot. This one is probably a little less since all the feathers haven’t grown in yet.
It does have the extra soft downy fluff, which is worth a 2x bonus though.
He looks like he’s either cozy, or he’s trying to summon and focus the unadulterated life energy of every living being in the universe like Goku to destroy you.
From my experience of reading about and interacting with owls, they all want to spirit bomb us. For an owl, being exposed seems about as joyful as if someone were to walk in on us while we’re changing clothes.
As with cats, could be both at the same time.
