It’s nice that their parent company is based in Japan however I do not want any of the profits going down south to the imperial american empire.
Please help me out ani.social❤️
The high seas, probably.
I was able to find:
ADN based in France though it seems to only offer french. Background
RTBF Auvio also seems french.
Goanime looks like it has english and dutch options.
I found this list of streaming anime services available for each country.
Isn’t Crunchyroll owned by Sony which isn’t American?
The issue isn’t who owns it but rather who gets money. Crunchyroll, while it is owned by Sony, is based in the USA so part of the revenue it takes in goes to it’s US operations: staff, servers, marketing, customer service, etc.
For people who don’t want to give anything to Americans, looking for an alternative is a sound idea.
just pirate
Maybe CBC Gem?
Crunchyroll aside, your options are Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, YouTube, Hulu, Adult Swim, etc.
Crunchyroll is the best you’re gonna get, unless you want to get Britbox or something (which I assume does not have anime).
EDIT: I listed 6 American platforms to demonstrate that your options are Crunchyroll or nothing.
Did you miss the non-American part of the question?
In the Boycott US community, no less.
Can y’all not read? I listed six different American options and then said “Crunchyroll is the best you’re gonna get”.
I’d add a note just to make what I’m trying to say even more obvious.
Sure, nice save on not reading the OPs question properly and responding like a bot.
You didn’t read my reply. I could’ve done better knowing people would just skim it but you can’t accuse me of not reading when you yourselves didn’t.
No. We read it. We understood it. You were wrong. And you answered in the wrong way for the wrong reason.
Shit, your backpedaling is going to result in lethal whiplash at this rate!
So you listed six “options” that are absolutely in direct opposition to what the OP wants and what this group is about and think you are on the moral high horse?
Wattamaroon.
It should be obvious I was listing them as a counterpoint, and it was wrong of y’all to assume I didn’t know that Netflix, Amazon, and Disney were American. It wasn’t even a case of online sarcasm, since my second sentence made clear I was using them as a comparison point to say “Crunchyroll is the best of them”.
Still, I was maybe a little bit too snarky given the state of reading comprehension in 2025 (which is “skim it and if it doesn’t make sense then assume who you’re talking to an idiot”).
Here’s some waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more plausible alternative explanations:
-
You didn’t read either the full post nor the group it was in and smarmily listed a bunch of American options.
-
You intended some kind of sarcastic observation but fumbled it because you are a shit writer.
Me, I’m leaning toward #2, actually. I’ll give you the benefit of some doubt. But you’re still a shit writer.
