As a fun fact, the first Simpsons movie aired in July 2007, after 18 seasons of the Simpsons.
Last year was the 36th season, or 18 seasons later. July 2027 will be just after the 38th season.
There are more episodes of The Simpsons between the two films than between the start of the show and the first film.
As another fun fact, I went to see the first Simpsons movie in the theatre with my wife, and the only memorable thing about it was Spider Pig.
Boob lady? Russ Cargill going mad with power? I was elected to lead not read? Tom Hanks hair tussle? Trappichino? Motorcycle finale? Animals watching sex? Mickey Mouse evil corporation? Clap for Alaska? Over the top coco by Flanders? Colin? Maggie sandbox? Homer flipping people off in the sandbox?
“Worst day of your life so far” and " Magie! What a happy little accident you turned out to be!" Were both classic lines imo as well
Sop, yeld, and one vay signs. There was some gold in the movie.
What are these from?
None of these ring a bell.
I enjoyed Bart motorcycling a bomb out of a giant doomed ceiling.
I thought that was Homer
They did it together, a true father-son bonding moment.
I wonder how this about-turn will be addressed
I’ve only ever met one Simpsons fan - I’m always surprised to see it still going.
Last movie was good maybe this one will be too.
If you mean a fan of the currently airing Simpsons, then yes, but there are tons of early season Simpsons fans
Oh I’m sure - I’ve just only met the one. Like I know people who have seen the show or the movie, but he is the only one who says “I like the Simpsons” when discussing shows.
Only if I see John Swartzwelder listed as a writer.
I forget which interview I heard it in, but as I recall people on the show have his number and every once in a while they’ll give him a call and he’ll drop in a nugget of wisdom.
So even if he’s not officially listed, I bet he’s in there.
But I do hope he’s in there officially.
Someone will have to dig him out of his bomb shelter, whilst dodging the bear traps
Just let it die already
Is this show still going?
