Entitled to nothing. Toxic by acting like they are entitled and now a slew of other people are toxic about a FOSS dev.
But we sure do love FOSS, am I rite?
It’s like introspection or game theory mean nothing to people…

No. Every time FOSS comes up on Lemmy, FOSS adherents remind me why I’d never dip my toe in that mess.
I use some open source, but I also pay to support it, so I’m not true FOSS. See: Home Assistant. I contribute to the support at times, and I’m familiar with the frustrations - and the need to be consistently cordial. And thick skinned.
For all you know you’re talking to someone on the spectrum. Perspective matters.
No, but carrying the grudge this long and vocally leaves me to wonder if the story is as crisp as put forth.
And FOSS die hards put many people off of lemmy early on.
Seek? Yes. Expect? No.
Too many FOSS users are toxicly entitled… It ruins things for everyone.
He’s not obligated to provide that support. But the tone sure makes it seem expected.
Can you help me underatand where you proved him wrong?
No one said “free world is blameless.”
You inferred it somehow and railed against what no one said. Many do, however, identify most closely with nations not ruled by an autocrat or dictator.
That the liberal countries are most likely to reject the invasion of another free country is not surprising and the “free world” is an apt descriptor for which countries are most likely to support Ukraine.
But “free world” doesn’t mean blameless. No one asserted that.
It’s seen as what-about-ism.
Painting everyone here with incredibly broad brushes and very certain tone means you’ve lost the trust and good will of your readers.
They then see what I said in the first sentence of this comment.
It didn’t need to be that way. You’re on Lemmy. It’s one of the places a person is most likely to see frequent criticisms of US warfare by US citizens. But you’re acting like the actions of an aggregate nation are the reflection of unanimous and ongoing support.
It’s not an accurate perspective.
You still sound absolutely certIain that everyone here is as you describe. And that means you’re wrong.
Please stop, breathe, and recalibrate. Because done differently, you’ll find many here agree.
You’re making way too many assumptions and I think that’s part of why you’re not being well received.
Can you examine your own certainty and superior tone when, to my knowledge, you haven’t asked a real question yet? You seem just know.
And, no, you initial exclamation having question marks just makes it an incredulous exclamation. Not a question.
Only one side does that.
And really, I wish neither did and words and ballots worked.
We need to uncap the house and some degree of order would be restored.
