You and I are talking about the same thing. I’m not trying for toxic positivity or casually rejecting the plight of many. We just have to not give into a form of nihilism which will paralyze even the best of us. Then they win.
Coolbeanschilly@lemmy.cato LinkedinLunatics@sh.itjust.works•Stop complaining, just get back to work1·7 hours agoReality is the hand we are dealt. The ideal is what we want for ourselves and what we aim towards.
Reality has always been hard, don’t expect it to be otherwise. Rather, move towards your own ideal.

If I ever pay for a streaming service, it will be for Nebula, at least it’s owned by the content creators so they are profiting directly.

Damn Underpants Gnomes, they’ve figured out market diversification.
Coolbeanschilly@lemmy.cato LinkedinLunatics@sh.itjust.works•Stop complaining, just get back to work1·8 hours agoIt isn’t bad advice if you apply it to your own challenges and quiet quit the job.

Are you comfortable with paying me an hourly wage with OT kicking in after 40 hours each week?

I’m getting Nutella PEANUT BUTTAH kid vibes from the title. Edit to add the video in question, see below:
I would be extremely concerned if a beaver offered me homemade marble ice cream.
It makes sense in some contexts, but not in others. For example, do you ask a man how often he masturbates if he came into the hospital for a skull fracture because he fell off a ladder at work?
Why ask a private question when you are certain it isn’t medically relevant?
Because if you want a strong relationship with your partner, you set aside your selfish ways.
This is a good explanation, covering a lot of information in a clear and concise manner. Thank you for sharing and helping me gain a slightly larger perspective.
This is a genuine question in regards to medical exams for women. Honestly, how often does the timing of your cycle have a direct correlation to the symptoms or conditions you are suffering when you go to the doctor?
I’m just curious, based on knowing how women’s symptoms aren’t always taken as seriously as a man’s during diagnosis. I’m sure that it has some relation sometimes, but I would love to hear the perspective and experiences that women have had with this.

The ONLY way this can work is if the men also choose to act with submission to their wife, children, and home.
It’s almost like it shouldn’t be patriarchy, but two people who love and respect one another as EQUALS in a PARTNERSHIP.
Coolbeanschilly@lemmy.cato Buy Canadian@lemmy.ca•7 Signs The US Boycott And "Buy Canadian" Movement Are Having A Major Effect24·6 days agoI’m on a student budget, so I have to shop at Walmart, but I try and buy as many Canadian goods as possible. I also use Giant Tiger whenever possible. I buy my coffee from them, as they still carry Melitta, and the local Walmart stopped selling it, because people weren’t buying the American coffee.
Just wait until I finish school and can afford better groceries. Same for family vacations. Canada.
In any society, there are two ways for the populace to express power, ballots or bullets.
