By my cursory research: For CRA, https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/international-non-residents/individuals-leaving-entering-canada-non-residents/deemed-residents.html#183 if you were here for 183 days (e.g. from Jan 1 to Jul 3rd), and if you are a resident of another country without a tax treaty with Canada, then for 2025 you will be considered a Canadian tax resident for a return to be filed in 2026.

Trump and the Republicans are ruining the economy while also exploding the deficit, kidnapping random people and smuggling them to random third countries. He’s preparing to silence dissent toward him in the media, on the street. He’s also set up and filling inhumane concentration camps. He’s done very little this month to end wars as he promised he’d do in a day, and really just inflamed tensions with Iran with a unilateral strike.

I suppose it could be a bit like a union deal no? The negotiators have a tentative agreement and then would the members ratify it? (Would members in this case European nations or representatives in parliament or something else? I’m unsure.)
