I have a copy of The Complete Fuzzy by H. Beam Piper that I found at a thrift store after I read Fuzzy Nation. I haven’t read it yet, but it is on the ever expanding TBR

dkppunk@lemmy.worldto Books@lemmy.world•What book(s) are you currently reading or listening to? August 055·4 days agoI’m currently reading Who’s Dead, Doc? by J. M. Griffin It’s the second book in a trilogy.
It’s a cozy murder mystery about a woman named Jules who runs a rabbit rescue. In the stories, she and her telepathic bunny named Bun solve murders that happen in her small rural town in New Hampshire. I absolutely love it 💚

Smaller places prefer cash because they can avoid the CC fees that they get charged for every single swipe. Many places have a sign at the register that they add an additional ~3% to the bill to cover fees which it can be avoided by paying in cash. I’ve started using cash over the last year to avoid the additional charges, especially for takeout.

They are folks just like the rest of us, some are flat out stupid.
I know a couple of Japanese-American people whose grandparents met and married in US concentration camps during WW2. They are fully in on the Trump train, Musk fans, and happy to see “those people” suffer. If you try to point out the hypocrisy, they just roll their eyes at you.
