When you use your phone or read you are not actively thinking on the device that you are using, be so a book or phone; but rather in the content than you are consuming.

The content is what is relevant not the device itself.

That’s why people have this myth that you “can’t read” in dreams, in reality you can, but language is also a device for content, where the brain cares more about the content itself.

So you are more likely to dream about the content you consume, not the device you use to consume that content.

While it is “less likely” it is by no means “impossible”.

But say you fix phones, or are a collector, or like me you are a programmer, maybe you are a writer; suddenly the device itself matters, so you will absolutely dream about the device, because the device itself is the content now.

From the brain’s standpoint the phone is an extension of its perception, (and it is correct at that because the phone calculates, stores data, and performs communication in novel ways that your brain can’t achieve, it extends the brain); and meta dreams are not common; think about how you use your phone, this social network right now, are you imagining a person writing this message and getting this content, or are you constantly aware of the fact you are just looking at pixels on a screen and there’s no person?.. no, you think you are discussing with someone, that’s the theme; not interacting with a machine; hence the relevant theme is “discussion”.

Local send has worked really poorly for me, and so has every program similar to it open source or not. The only network file sharing program that has always worked (mostly) floorlessly for me is AirDrop.

tag studio It’s a file manager designed to use tags instead of files because tags are a much better system. It’s still in alpha and I haven’t actually tested it yet but I plan to use it instead of regular file managers once it becomes stable and well supported.

I’m not saying I’m very knowledgeable but as your asking for the consensus. I think Bluesky is much better than twitter but it doesn’t properly embody the ideals of the fediverse: that is a decentralized network of instances but it really only has one main instance. It’s also heavily viewed as an alternative to twitter, people who like twitter but don’t like X or the way elon musk is running things so the same people who don’t like twitter go to X and therefore the community isn’t so much better.

But who am I to say this I don’t even use twitter mastadon or Bluesky.

Blender is half the reason I believe in open source. They continue to innovate and compete with companies that have orders of magnitude more funding.

I totally agree. It’s easy to be awed by less buttons and a bigger screen but when your driving and trying to adjust the air conditioner by opening the menu and pressing the “fan down” button 3 times, it’s so much more annoying not to mention dangerous when compared to a simple tactile knob.

Ok i’m willing to die on this hill. I completly agree with you on the cybertruck, it is a truck and trucks suck. But as for the smaller cars the dangrous fudge on wheels part is probably due to people misusing the self-driving feature, if you use your tesla like a normal car and not like a self driving car then it is really good.

On second thoughts the main issue of tesla seams to be that they have horrible quality control, which definitely sucks.

What are we doing criticizing tesla? I’m by no means endorsing Elon musk but I think it’s best not to get cought up in the politics of this all, teslas are still some of the best value electric cars.
