Even I want to believe that but I am an Indian and know how people think here. Families here think if their daughter/wife/mother/sister have been raped, it would bring disgrace to them if the news spread in the public so they stay silent and hope it would pass. This is especially true for low income families.

Agreed, but is a chicken and egg problem. People won’t use Linux because the apps they want don’t support it and apps won’t support it because most people don’t use Linux. Someone will have to cave in if we want to break this stupid proprietary duopoly.
