No duh. I don’t care if a few people got slammed into the ceiling
I care that two planes almost collided and killed everyone
Why even consider the seat belts? They’re not the real issue here

I don’t think you get what I’m saying.
If you build your house in a flood zone… Well, I feel for you. That sucks, but I’m not going to lose sleep over it
If the state is cutting taxes to incentize building in a flood plain (which is a thing that has happened), in going to be very upset
Nah, she’ll be fine because she’s going to lie. They’re already laundering her reputation
It’s going to be very funny
At any time, you can expect at least 2-6 people out of their seats if the fasten seatbelts sign isn’t on. But I don’t really care about that part, shit happens
Planes shouldn’t be dodging each other in the first place… That’s the actual problem here. I don’t blame the pilot either, they avoided a collision, so as far as I’m concerned they did what they had to do
The situation itself never should have happened
It applies to everyone - you’ve had an event this year too. I should have said our governments
Air traffic control is just not an individual thing. Not even an individual country thing.
And I’m aware of unexpected turbulence…I just don’t see getting banged about that big a deal. Shit happens. Wrong place, wrong time… Sure, put on your seatbelt when you’re sitting down, but even if you don’t you’re probably not going to die from it
But planes nearly colliding? Actually colliding? That should never happen… It’s a 3D arena, the sky is huge. Planes should neither fall apart nor be anywhere near each other without coordination
We made air travel very safe with old technology, for a long time too. This is a very recent problem, and totally unacceptable
Fair, but it has gotten very noticably worse based on Trump’s deregulation catching up on the aircrafts and the latest round of forcing out air traffic control
Also, I didn’t know you could just say “all pronouns”. I like that a lot, I’m really uncomfortable putting myself in boxes and that describes my preferences very succinctly
Yeah, that’ll keep you from getting slammed on the ceiling…in a situation that should never, ever happen. Which I’d over a midair collision, in which case you’re just screwed no matter what you do
I don’t blame the pilot either, they did their job properly. It was the military that failed to coordinate with the civilian air control tower, which also could have been avoided if the civilian tower had radar
What should you do? Demand better. Not think “I would have been fine, they must’ve been stupid”
You can’t protect against every freak event, what you can do is be one drop in the wave that demands competence from our government
And airplanes shouldn’t be in each other’s airspace
I don’t know what you’re trying to say, the airplanes nearly running into each other is the clear problem
I doubt it, they set up a bunch of storylines. The episode is barely about Trump, most of it is how we’re responding to this new reality
Parker and Stone have always been counter culture centrists… But from global warming to increasingly obvious political shifts, they just had nothing to say and seemed to realize maybe they’re not as smart as they thought
They didn’t talk about Trump 45 or MAGA much because they want to cynically sit back and make fun of wokeness and caricature bigots. They want Cartman to be a source of shock value, and they want Stan to be their honest take of an honest person trying their best to make sense of the world
But now people are identifying with Cartman openly. The episode was not subtle about that. Things have gotten out of control… Stan’s arc was about Jesus being forced down his throat, he doesn’t really have a problem with Jesus, he’s just really weirded out.
The Trump bait was supposedly added late in production based on Paramount firing Colbert, they signed a $1.5 billion deal with paramount two days before airing and they want to blow up the merger. They didn’t like how skydance leadership was already pressuring them, and they don’t like the idea of censorship in general… That all was a fuck you, I dare you to cancel us now that real money is on the line
Trump will definitely be a backdrop, but they’ve finally found something they want to say. And there’s just not much to say about Trump…What, are you going to call him a pedo? Are you going to say he smells? Are you going to say he’s cheating at golf while his handlers do an ethnic cleansing?
There’s just no room for satire with Trump, and I don’t think they can bait a reaction much harder than they did this episode
Which time? In January or in Trump’s last term?
Yeah, but people are still going to be using the bathrooms and such, even if you assume everyone actually obeys the rules
Well, language is a living thing. In my experience, the meaning of that word has shifted over the past couple decades
Fact-oid means something like malformed fact, but we no longer use this suffix much because it’s offensive. So the suffix kinda lost it’s meaning in everyday language, which makes this kind of flip common… There’s a word for this kind of drift, but I don’t remember it
Factoids are true things, just simplified down to the point they’re easily digestible without context
He was doing really well before he met Trump in the white house for the first time. He was still an idiot, and apparently a Nazi, but he was very quiet about being a Nazi, and he was good at getting people excited for electric cars and space travel
It’s not even made with egg anymore. It’s basically impossible to find real mayo… In the US at least
And I think it’s worse than that. I’ve got insurance, but I can’t afford to use it, so what even is that? I’ve stitched myself up at home plenty of times, you can heal from most things with first aid
I’m more worried about the brown shirts. I’ll heal or I’ll die, but I do not want to be locked in a cage… I’d rather just die
I had a nice teacher who gave us IRL clients over the course of a full year, and basically guided us through the process while teaching us methodology theoretically as we went through the process
I don’t think there’s a better way, honestly the theory is important, but methodology is learned by doing. I really benefitted by learning from my brother… He taught me best practices as he went through school and the workforce. So I pay it forward
I think courses should focus more on teaching how to use libraries and debug tools… Past that, you get into skills that can’t be taught, only learned
Lol I’ve had an interesting conversation with myself here. Insomnia is a bitch.
I think getting other people sent to concentration camps is the luxury?
IDK what the logic is really, but there are definitely camps and I’m freaking out because no one seems to acknowledge this and I’m in the next wave or one after
I can’t argue with that. I think we’re on the same page
On pronouns… Honestly I just don’t want to be called it. Anything else, call me what feels natural. I feel shackled, I just want to be who I am at any given time without pretending or forcing myself to meet gender expectations
I feel like I should’ve been a theatre kid, but they were mean to me so I did sports, my teammates always had my back
