It’s real simple: woke has a negative connotation for a reason. I won’t deny that the context is complex, but if you think most people react positively to the phrase, you’re living under a rock.
Woke is awesome, and I’ll own the “negative” connotation. Fuck MAGA asshat fascists; they seek to eliminate what little democracy was even there.
Woke means: not being an asshat. Woke means: caring for the environment, caring for labour rights, caring to fight oligarchy.
To you. To others, it means something quite different.
“Woke” is a term bigots and racists took over to use to hate on “tolerance” without saying they hate “tolerance”. Take it back.
It has a negative connotation only for nazis and racists. For everyone else it has a clear, well defined meaning. Anyone who uses it as pejorative is a racist, nazi propagandist.

By the way back then you didn’t have influencers and youtubers telling you what to think, and there were no 6 hours video assay telling you how bad the lastest disney movie (because no other animated movie is worth discussing) is. Honestly back then we either turned on the tv or pop in some vhs or later on dvd and be happy about it. I know it’s wild to think but we didn’t have internt with us all time.
We didn’t have the youtubers or Instagram thots; but we sure had influencers in the form of “talking heads” on television and radio.
