when i first heard about the male loneliness epidemic i was like oh yeah close camaraderie and bonding between men is often discouraged in favor of competition or, if not discouraged, at least filtered through a lens of individualism that precludes deep connections. and then i learned what people meant by it (men arent getting laid) to which i say skill issue
to all the men out there not getting laid: try less hard to get laid and try more hard to be an enjoyable and relaxing presence
The majority of people are straight and cis
So am I and I don’t enjoy it.
Also I think its fair to say that “straight” and “cis” are somewhat social categories not totally essential ones, so “straightness” and “cisness” are a crystalization of social attitudes within the individual, and much of that social conditioning is chauvinist. I am not a chauvinism enjoyer, and I don’t think anyone else should enjoy chauvinism. But you do you.
God a guy can’t even joke around anymore without getting crucified by the anti-woke mob.
In all seriousness I like being a guy, but the best parts of being a guy (other than privilege which isnt good but sort of appears that way to the individual) are shared by queer and trans guys, so I think I am being consistent with my principles even if I’m joking

That’s quite a lot of vitriol yourself! I genuinely don’t understand the negative reaction, maybe it was a bad joke but people are legit mad at me. I’m not filled with judgement and vitriol, by no account is that true. So I wonder where the line is that I crossed

You are assuming that someone merely pointing out the majority of people are cis as some kind of endorsement for chauvinism. That’s presumptive hateful judgement.
You are willing to call an entire instance “a silly place”. That’s ignorant, vitriolic, and again, judgemental.
You may or may not be self aware enough to realize how fucking toxic your entire attitude is, but it is never the less, and will not be appreciated by actual adults looking for conversation instead of judgement.
Now grow the hell up and try accepting that you’ve done something wrong for once instead of casting blame on everyone around you. That is insanely pathetic and immature behavior, so no wonder you believe in silly things like “the anti-woke mob” when it is merely people recognizing your toxic behavior as toxic.
Alright well I disagree that I said anything that would be vitriolic, but I will reassess how I think about and joke about certain topics. These are tough, tense times and maybe shit that was funny a couple years ago ain’t funny anymore. I just started new meds so that’s got me going as well. Sorry if I caused any distress, I’m really not like that
It’s the general angle taken that’s likely the biggest problem. Get the ball rolling in a bad direction and others will pile on. Negativity is indeed in easy supply.
