Here’s the thing. You said a “The Thing is an Avenger.”

Was he a member of New Avengers during the Bendis run? Yes. No one’s arguing that.

As someone who is a nerd who reads comics, I am telling you, specifically, among comic book nerds, no one calls the Thing an Avenger. If you want to be “specific” like you said, then you shouldn’t either. They’re not the same thing.

If you’re saying “Avengers” you’re referring to the many affiliated superhero teams, which includes teams from West Coast Avengers to Great Lakes Avengers to Young Avengers.

So your reasoning for calling the Thing an Avenger because he was a part an Avengers team on some occasions? Let’s get Punisher and Squirrel Girl in there, then, too.

Also, calling someone a human or a mutant? It’s not one or the other, that’s not how taxonomy works. They’re both. Wolverine is an Avenger and a member of the X-Men. But that’s not what you said. You said the Thing is an Avenger, which is not true unless you’re okay with calling practivally all Marvel superheroes Avengers, which means you’d call Adam Warlock, Dr. Strange, and other heroes Avengers, too. Which you said you don’t.

It’s okay to just admit you’re wrong, you know?

  • Get a BitTorrent client. Deluge has been treating me right, so I can vouch for it, but there’s probably options.

Torrents can be found at 1337x.to. Again, there’s options and there is a bit of flow to it - it’s worth looking up alternatives once in a while, but this one’s decent for the popular stuff. Good ol’ Pirate Bay is still a thing. I treat it as backup these days. For more obscure stuff there are some “private trackers”. Never quite understood the tech behind it, but they only let you torrent if you sign up. These are usually more narrowly focused, require a sign-up (sometimes invite only), and only let you download if your seed ratio is good (oh yeah, look up some of the terminology: peer, seed, leech are the main ones. Bonus - you will understand this xkcd once you do.)

Worst case scenario - you can always try googling “your thing torrent”. It’s a bit more risky - you’ll get a TON of malicious sites as results, but sometimes it’s worth it. Usually not though.

Have an ad blocker installed and know where to click. You want either a link to download a .torrent file (which will open in your client of choice) or a “magnet” link. Not exactly sure how that works but it does work. Anything else is bad news. Videos/music is generally safe unless you’re extra stupid, games and software are never guaraneed to be safe. Cracks will often get flagged by anti-virus software. Can’t offer much more help than “use your judgement”.

You may live in one of the countries where you have to use a VPN to do stuff like this. I don’t, so I can’t guide you in that regard. If you’re in the USA or Germany then you definitely need to look this up. There’s some others, but I don’t remember. If you’re in Eastern Europe you’re certainly fine.

I’m very hungover today, so please ignore all the spelling and/or factual mistakes I’ve maked. I hope this is enough to get you started. Next step is for you to try stuff and make mistakes. That’s the best way to learn. Or you know, ask me if you have questions.
