I didn’t spend a bunch of money on a 4090, only to not be able to fully utilize every feature it has to offer.
I’ve already tried Linux with an Nvidia GPU. The driver is bare bones. You don’t get the Nvidia App or even the Nvidia Control Panel. That means no 3D Settings page, no RTX HDR, no Shadowplay, no game filters, no video upscaling in Firefox… All features that I paid money to have and use daily.

Shit like this is why people need to knock it off with the “iT’s A sCaM” bullshit and embrace crypto. This is the exact kind of issue that using cryptocurrency prevents.

Also, HDR support in Linux needs to get a lot better. Like an order of magnitude better. Then and only then will I switch.

Because the idea of keeping the engine at the ideal rev range regardless of your speed appeals to me. Gears have powerbands, CVTs are always in the sweet spot. How can you do any better than that?

Can’t say I’ve noticed a difference. The tires wear at a normal rate. The traction and stability systems are very good in this car, despite it being over a decade old at this point. Wheel spin is well-controlled.
Exactly. My girlfriend will disappear for an entire day and not come home until 10pm. I usually have no idea where she is or what she’s doing (mainly because I forget due to having ADHD), but I don’t worry about it because I know she’ll never cheat. Damn shame that CVTs are so janky because it’s the only non-manual transmission I’d consider. But reliable CVTs that don’t do fake shifts are hard to come by.
The eCVT in my wife’s Ford C-Max is an absolute dream. It’s so smooth and helps the car take off much faster from a stop than my 350Z, despite having 100 less BHP. Nothing beats the feeling you get from immediate torque when you don’t have to wait for the revs to build. Problem is that it also has a 75% failure rate after 100K miles. She’s at 120K now and it’s still going strong, so she was in the lucky 25%.
