Flag burners shall be punished to the FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW!

(There is no punishment proscribed for violations of the flag code.)

watch some nutjobs in robes rule flag burning to be a ‘hate crime’ against white male morons, or a ‘threat’ against the ‘president’

Next step indeed will be where it is a severe offense if one desecrates the image of Trump, creator king of the new USA.

Thailand is to be the example in this matter.

The fullest extent of the law on this issue is famously not at all, though mild harassment by cops is permitted as they don’t need to know the law

Not sure about the US, but what I was taught here in Norway during my time in the army is that the colors are to be separated by cutting the seams so that the individual pieces no longer constitute a flag. Then you burn the individual colors. I imagine separating the colors would be a PITA with a US flag.

I am looking forward to the day when all MAGA merch will be burned - it will be as glorious as the burning and destruction of Swastikas and Nazi flags in Germany and Europe in 1945.

Why wait? Just make sure they don’t have a camera or a gun they’re itching to use first.

Flag code is an advisory for proper handling of the flag. That’s it. Flag code was never meant to supersede the Constitution.

That he would use executive orders to push such totalitarian things isn’t surprising, but it shouldn’t get far before it’s challenged by the Supreme Court.

Unless the Court has been bought. Let’s see how this plays out. Weird way to stimulate the economy by getting people to buy flags (made in China) to burn in protest.

According to the Flag Code, the proper disposal method is to burn it.

Every day we get embarrassed as a country by this dipshit in new and profound ways.

Here are the proper procedures for flag disposal, according to VFW:

The flag should be folded in its customary manner.
The fire must be large and intense enough to ensure the complete burning of the flag.
Place the flag on the fire.
Individuals may come to attention, salute the flag, recite the Pledge of Allegiance and have a brief period of silent reflection.
After the flag is consumed, the fire should be extinguished and then the ashes buried.
Make sure you are conforming to local and state fire codes or ordinances.

The proper way to dispose of a US flag is to use it to wipe up cat vomit and then throw it in the garbage. A flag is just a piece of cloth. It’s what it represents, the values and ideals behind it, that are important. Obsession with the cloth itself is just a secular form of idolotry. You’re treating a flag as some sort of sacred object. Nah, I say deliberately harm and disrespect the flag. If we really are a nation that cares about freedoms, we should deliberately put very little emphasis and reference to symbols like this. Hell, if we really want to celebrate freedom, we should disrespect our flag whenever possible. We should all be using American flag toilet paper. Do this just to show that we’re supposed to remember the ideals the flag stands for, not care for the cloth itself.
