In the season 22 episode ‘The Fool Monty’, which aired in 2010, a helicopter appears with the slogan: “Fox News: Not Racist, But #1 With Racists.” The joke was criticised by political pundit Bill O’Reilly, who accused the show of “continuing to bite the hand that feeds part of it”.

So his problem with the allegations of pandering to racists wasn’t that it was untrue, it was that he felt they’d been paid to not say it?

That should have been a message two decades ago. It’s too late now. Additionally, there’s many more far-right echo chambers at this point. It’s not just Fox News anymore.

“Grab the TV remote, go to menu, go to controls, vertical controls, look for channel list and delete Fox News.”

I love political statements that are this specifically actionable

There’s already little devices you can buy that just cycle through every IR code to turn off every TV in range. This should get coupled with a mic listening for Fox News commercial bumps before activating.

Is there a specific sound to those? It actually could be possible with an ESP chip, IR transmitter, and a decent pickup mic

I’d be shocked if fox doesn’t use some sound effects at the start of shows as a pavlovian response to get their viewers salivating

Because Fox News is about to remind everyone he was getting his toes sucked by a trafficked girl on an Epstein flight?

Matt is right, but it’s awfully convenient to say it now and not when his show was popularising Fox on it’s rise to dominance, despite being a fascist shitbag TV network. 30 years too late Matt.

Fox and Fox News are different channels. Also, the former is owned by Disney now.

What you say is both true, and completely irrelevant and misleading. The Simpsons’ heydays were during Fox’s meteoric rise to pre-eminence and at the time Fox News not only supplied Fox with their newsroom coverage they were owned by the same parent at the time. Being owned by Disney now is immaterial to my previous comment.

        From wikipedia

Fox went on to become the most successful attempt at a fourth television network; it was also the highest-rated free-to-air network in the 18–49 demographic from 2004 to 2012 and 2020 to 2021 and was the most-watched American television network in total viewership during the 2007–08 season.[3][4] It is a member of the North American Broadcasters Association and the National Association of Broadcasters. Fox does not have network newscasts of its own due to its lack of a news division, and instead relies on the 24-hour Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network to supply news programming to the network.

        And regarding Fox News

        https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fox_News

The Fox News Channel (FNC), commonly known as Fox News, is an American multinational conservative news and political commentary television channel and website based in New York City, U.S.[3][4] It is owned by Fox News Media, which itself is owned by Fox Corporation.[5] It is the most-watched cable news network in the U.S.,[6][7] and as of 2023 it generates approximately 70% of its parent company’s pre-tax profit.
