Thanks, I appreciate that!
I appreciate you! :)
Thanks! Indeed, that’s why I added the “inspired” tag :D
Not as an excuse, but some explanation - I added pepper for some color, garlic because I can’t live without it :), glass noodles as I didn’t have rice noodles, sake as I didn’t have lime or lemon :D (every store is closed on Sundays where I live, so…).
I used chicken broth I cooked myself yesterday, and I generally use turkey/chicken interchangeably, that’s why I used gà.
What about the spices / aromatics? Anything else I was missing?
Anyhow, points taken, 2nd time I make this I’ll be sure to make it proper!
I actually enjoy cooking, and going to events or parties where I get to cook, now that I can manage.
I’m okay in small-ish groups in general, and she knows that after a social event I need some alone time.
Not ace :)
We’ve been married for 20 years. Yes, there are struggles, but we learned that each one of us can have their own separate slices of life as well. While she goes to a meetup, I cook at home. While she goes to a party, i meet up with a buddy, jamming. I’m okay in smaller groups, especially if I get to cook :)
Imagine being introverted, autistic, with social anxiety, being married to an extrovert ADHD person.
At least I feel like it’s a decent size :)
But there aren’t more toppings than ramen and broth, they are just laid on top.
I mean, you’re not wrong :))
it’s store bought cured pork belly, cooked it in the oven under the grill for bout 10 minutes on each side.
I didn’t think it needed an ingredient list, my bad… besides the listed ingredients, there’s the broth, which in this case is chicken stock (soup i cooked myself yesterday) and miso paste. oh, and of course, ramen noodles.
these are the base ingredients. you could very well leave it like this.
what i did more: to the broth i added some spices i had handy (cinnamon stick, star anise, allspice, coriander seeds, black peppercorns, whole cloves, some msg, white pepper, garlic & ginger) and after a quick simmer, i turned off the heat, and added some dry nori strips, carrot, white onion, green onion. sprinkled some black sesame seeds after plating. i think that’s it… the recipe changes based on what i have at hand that day.
Oh, that’s carrot :)

That’s fair. It was a pretty decent size bowl, there was plenty of broth, but maybe a bit too much of the rest…
rimworld, project zomboid, starsector…
That sounds oh so familiar:)
Having 30+ people over for her birthday was horrifying, but I was in the kitchen most of the time, with the occasional person dropping by…
Luckily it wasn’t a dinner party but a buffet & fire pit outside situation. I even came out after dark, to sit by the fire with her and a few people that stayed late :D
